Sealed By Revenge

From Chapter 14

From his window, Rakan observed Elyssa in the garden. He was pleased with her progress. While his professional success may have bolstered his confidence and status with his peers, it had done nothing to fill the vacuum in which his soul dwelled.  He felt quite inept when it came to emotional matters of the heart.  This placed him in a hazardous situation when dealing with a person as noble, determined, mystical, and vulnerable as the young beauty in his care.

Could a man read his future in a woman’s eyes? His heart lurched, as his mind recognized the dawn of the fulfillment of a dream.  Was Elyssa truly seeing him?  Not as a protective brother or rescuer, but as a man with a starving heart, a heart that had pounded inside his chest when their eyes had locked in sudden stillness for a sweet moment.  Such a blissful moment, it felt like a dream.

From Chapter 16

With blood boiling in her veins, she shifted away from him and dove into the water.

Her tempestuous, rapid strokes quickly got her to the far end of the pool.  She emerged at the shallow end in seconds and started to climb out, her ears buzzing with humiliation. Suddenly, an arm of steel grabbed her by the waist and dragged her back into the water. Astounded, she gasped at the dark shadow over her.  She had no time to react.  A solid hand cupped her head, gray eyes sank in hers, and Rakan’s mouth descended ravenously on hers, stealing her breath away, and then lingered, savoring her.  Her doubts evaporated under his sensual fervor and she eased down in his arms. Their bodies blended in the water, his hands roaming along her back and down her curves and up again, fueling a fire on her skin. He became more demanding, burning her cheeks, her eyelids, and then back to her lips, which were beginning to swell from the intensity of his ardent kisses. Surprised by his unexpected passion, Elyssa timidly gave him the response he seemed to demand.  In a swift motion, he turned her around by the shoulders, pinned her against the side of the pool and slammed his growing hardness against her pelvis.  She stiffened.  Fear blasted through her, overpowering the excitement of his sexual advance. Panic propelled her back to reality.  She shoved him away, needing to escape.

Rakan brought her back into his strong hands, his breath hot, and his darkened eyes piercing hers. “You have a deal, Elyssa,” he defied gutturally, “but only on the condition that I accomplish it my way.”  Then, softening, he said with an encouraging smile, “I won't hurt you, I promise. When the time comes, I shall erase your violent memories with my desire. You need more time, Elyssa.  You’re not ready.”

From chapter 24

“Jesus, Elyssa!  What are you doing here?  You’re crazy!  For God’s sake!  You just gave me the scare of my life!”

She had no time to answer. As he had anticipated, a bomb exploded under the window. Pinning her quickly against the wall, he hugged her to shield her from the flying glass. “You’re incredible,” he reprimanded her irritably. “If we come out of this alive, Elyssa, you’re going to pay for it.”

He brought her lips to his and gave her a punishing kiss, a fearful kiss, an agonizing kiss, hurting her with his rampant mouth. He mellowed at once under her sweet response that transformed it into a soothing, loving kiss. The sound of shots firing simultaneously could be heard in the corridor, where Rakan’s men stood guarding their door.

Rakan looked deeply into her eyes for a moment. “Do you know how to use a gun? Oh, never mind. Take one anyway.  Damn it!” he cursed, incensed at having her there.  Flipping open a drawer, he snatched the lightest weapon, an M16 that would be more appropriate for her feminine grip, and quickly explained how to use it. Without hesitating, she grabbed it. He knew then that he could count on her.  “Elyssa, listen to me carefully.  It’s of the utmost importance that you memorize this number.  If things get worse, you call Richard.”  He gave her the number, which she repeated several times, her eyes pinched in concentration.  He told her the secret code.  Then his mouth covered hers desperately, his tongue plunging into her moist depths.

Thousands  of  miles away across the Atlantic, a high-ranking officer burst into his superior’s office. “Sir! Code Eagle Wings Arabia.  It’s a red signal!”

“What the hell…!” The General behind his desk jumped to his feet in total dismay. “What are you saying?”

“It’s confirmed, sir. The Eagle called himself.”

“Jesus Christ!” The startled superior swerved around, running both hands through his blond hair. “We weren’t expecting a rebellion before January. What’s going on?” the confused CIA general asked.

“I’m not sure, sir. But the message is clear. Our man is in danger.”

“Contact Riyadh Base and have them dispatch two Hawks immediately!”

“Yes, sir.”

“And Richard,” he stopped the officer as he was on his way out, “keep me informed by the hour. I want the Eagle home safely!”
